The First Christian Church of Kennett is a wonderful Family of believers. I'm not just writing this because I'm the Pastor and I'm trying to make members feel good and visitors want to attend, I sincerely mean it. I love to tell people all about how magnificent this Church is. Come and meet the Family, and you'll see why.

Human life is like a triangle. We have a mental side, a spiritual side, and a physical side. Eleven years ago, when a good friend first told me about this life-triangle model, I thought each side was independent: ‘I go to college. I exercise. Now go learn about God.’ However, in ‘learning about God’ I found the mental and physical sides can be extensions of a spiritual foundation. For disciples of Jesus Christ, all aspects of our life ought to flow from our relationship with God. Matthew 4:4 comes to mind: “But he answered, “It is written, ‘One does not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God’”” (cf. Deuteronomy 8:3). There it is ▲, all three sides: reading, eating, and faith wrapped up in one. And just as Jesus faced the tempter in the wilderness, we are tempted to believe there are aspects of our lives separate from our relationship with God.
The life-triangle model got me started on an explicitly spiritual journey that transformed my life beyond imagining—an incredibly useful stepping stone. Be on the lookout for stepping stones. Don’t get stuck. It’s good to outgrow what we know.
